Lee Ritchie
Lee Ritchie is a Scottish painter whose primary interests include growth and decay. Much of his work derives from landscape photography. |
I studied Art and Design at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art Dundee, and Graphic Design with the Tindsley Lochart Group in Edinburgh.
Much of my early work was concerned with growth and decay, with many of my paintings deriving their starting point from landscape photography. This is an integral part of a process that I still employ.
I have attempted to blur the distinctions between textile, printed, and painted media, while trying to retain a depth of colour and texture as a strong motif throughout.
My recent paintings have included a tightly themed series of work, with close detail, abstract and hyper real elements.
I have also recently produced a series of art cards and prints.
